JADE + MARCUS
STYLED SHOOT AT VICTORIA BATHS IN MANCHESTER
So who doesn’t want to get married in a vintage swimming baths filled to the brim of history, stunning architecture and emerald green tiles and quirky rooms to explore? Take a look to see what can be created in my favourite venue…Victoria Baths in Manchester.
I first set eyes on Victoria Baths in 2015 when I was second shooting for a colleague and I instantly fell in love with it. I’m a massive history geek as it is and when I arrived at Victoria Baths I just could not stop exploring. The building is vast with three swimming pools, sauners, changing rooms, ticket office and the managers living quarters upstairs to name but a few of it’s spaces. As a photographer I was like a kid in a huge sweet shop!!
Jade wore the most stunning sequin gown that can you believe it is from Asos! Yes you heard that right. The sequins shimmered against the green tiles of the venue catching the light from the windows. I wanted to keep the look of the couple modern and on trend so it contrasted against the vintage venue.
Jade’s hair and make up was done by the lovely Andrea Baines who created effortless Hollywood waves decorated with a selection of modern hair slides from fb Bridal Studio. Andrea kept Jades make up warm and dewy with a smoky eye and coral lips. Jades bouquet was by La Beau Fleurs and the flowers in the bouquet were a perfect match for the coral lipstick.
I wanted Marcus in a suit that was really going to stand out and pop in the venue so I went for a velvet burnt orange number which was also from Asos.
So you may have seen Victoria Baths on numerous TV programmes. It was used in Life on Mars, It’s a Sin and Peaky Blinders. Anyone else a MASSIVE Tommy Shelby fan!
Can we take a minute to appreciate the most awesome geometric, simple yet effective cake by Pink Cocoa and this pretty stationary by Rock Paper Nib?! They completed the shoot and along with a 1920’s wedding ring from London Victorian Ring Company they made for some very pretty detail shots.
